Myth #1: Dental Bridges Are Better Than Implants <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you\u2019re missing teeth, there are a few different ways you\ncan replace them, one of them being a dental bridge. Bridges consist of a\nstring of dental crowns that are used to literally bridge the gap in your grin.\nHowever, they also require that your two remaining teeth on either side of the\ngap be filed down so crowns can be anchored to them. Implants are generally\nconsidered better than bridges, since adjacent teeth don\u2019t need to be altered\nto place them.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myth #2: Dental Implants Can Cause a Lot of Pain <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Many people are scared of getting dental implants because\nthey\u2019re worried the procedure will hurt. In actuality, your implant dentist\nwill ensure you\u2019re comfortable with plenty of local anesthesia and sedation. While\nthere will likely be some soreness for a few days afterward, it can be managed\nwith pain medications like ibuprofen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myth #3: Implants Will Look Different from Your Natural Teeth <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If your implant is placed and restored properly, no one\nshould be able to tell the difference between it and the rest of your natural\nteeth. Your dentist should restore your implant with a high-quality dental\ncrown that looks and feels just like a normal tooth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Myth #4: It\u2019s Okay to Buy Bargain Implants If Your Budget Is Tight <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In recent years, bargain implant centers have sprung up,\noffering tooth replacement at a fraction of the cost of your dentist. However,\nwhen it comes to dental care, you always get what you pay for. These centers\noften use cheap materials that don\u2019t last as long and could even be dangerous. You\u2019re\nmuch better off investing in a professionally made implant from your dentist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
